Overview

Cal Advocates has developed a model of electrification load growth of similar purpose to the Electrification Impacts Study Part 1 (EIS) performed by the California Public Utilities Commission’s consultant, Kevala. This slide deck highlights our preliminary findings regarding future distribution infrastructure costs to move the state toward electrification, which we estimate to be between $15 and $20 billion through 2035. This figure is approximately one-third of what Kevala has estimated ($50 billion).

Please download the slide deck below to read through our preliminary results in more detail. We expect to publish our findings in July/August 2023.
